Established in 1853 in Epsom Downs, Surrey, England, Epsom College is a co-educational public school catering to students aged 11 to 18. Initially founded as a boarding school for children of medical professionals.

In 1855, the Royal Medical Benevolent College (now Epsom College) was established, endorsed by Queen Victoria, supporting families of deceased medical practitioners.

The prevalence of medical professionals among graduates today stems from a historical lineage. Student preferences in A-level subjects, favoring math, sciences, and chemistry, which prepare them for medical careers. It was the network of alumni, known as "Old Epsomians," who saw the benefits of establishing a prestigious platform in Malaysia.

Epsom College in Malaysia (ECiM) was established in 2014 with the vision of sharing the Epsom College UK educational philosophy with international students across Asia.

Located on 80 acres in Bandar Enstek, in the south of Malaysia's capital city of Kuala Lumpur, ECiM provides the best of British education to students aged 3 to 18 and the IGCSE and A-level curriculum.

Our campus consists of state-of-the-art facilities that nurture students' minds and bodies.

Teaching and learning with UK teachers take place in high-tech, environmentally friendly buildings that comply with international safety regulations.
In addition, our sports facilities are world-class, but of a quality rarely found in international schools - an internal golf driving range, 11 ITF-compliant tennis courts, rugby and cricket pitches, 4G soccer pitch and Astro Turf hockey pitches, squash courts, basketball and badminton courts, dance studio and professionally equipped gymnasium.

Epsom College’s Commitment for its School in Japan

Epsom College Malaysia, like its British counterpart (Independent School of the Year 2023), is committed to the same high standards of education and academic excellence as its British sister school, but also provides its students with an education and environment that is strongly focused on sports, arts, and music and have students to achieve what Japanese refer to as: “Bunbu ryoudo” which means to have a good balance between the academics and sports.

The Malaysian school is the first overseas branch of the British school and is globally localized, incorporating the culture and learning characteristics of the British school. Epsom College Malaysia is an accredited member of the Council of British International Schools (COBIS) and has received Beacon School status in Student Welfare and Leadership. Of the 450+ COBIS members worldiwde, only 21 receive Beacon School status demonstrating excellence in specific standards.

Similar to what has been done in the Malaysian school, Epsom College Japan will not completely replicate the British school, but it will incorporate Japanese culture, customs, and history to create an Epsom College that is unique to the region and to Japan.

The preparatory committee for the Japanese opening of Epsom College knows that diversity exists not only abroad, but also in abundance in each region of Japan. There are diverse cultures, natural environments, and people in many regions from Hokkaido to Okinawa.
We would like to take the Epsom College philosophy into the 22nd century and work with people in each region of Japan to create an Epsom College school, which can only be realized in Japan.

Collaboration with Epsom College Malaysia:

Program collaboration with Epsom College Malaysia including overseas experience and seasonal camps during long vacations. Continuous student exchange and cooperative educational programs. From the middle school onward, students will be able to go on to the Malaysian school with dormitories, which will provide a wide range of educational options for each student.
